Sandpoint Furniture was established in 1945 at 205 Cedar Street in downtown Sandpoint, Idaho. In 1984: Mike Gunter, Dwight Sheffler, and Dale Jeffres, all third generation Sandpoint residents, purchased Sandpoint Furniture from Bob Farmin, Chuck Bonar and Bob Nelson.
During the next 10 years in their downtown location; Sandpoint Furniture experienced success and growing pains. After much deliberation, they moved the store just minutes north to Ponderay, Idaho. They have been growing ever since. In 1995 they joined the Carpet One Flooring cooperative and became known as Sandpoint Furniture, Carpet One. Since then they have purchased Luminesce Lighting and are in the process of opening Selkirk Glass and Cabinets.
In 2007, the second generation of Gunters, Shefflers, and Jeffres jumped in to the ownership of Sandpoint Furniture. Clint Gunter, Ross Granier, Carmin Sheffler, Nathan Jeffres, Eric Jeffres, and John Darling, have accepted the challenge of bringing our customers great products with outstanding knowledge and customer service that Sandpoint Furniture’s customers have come to expect.
With the opening of a brand new Carpet One show-room in the near future and the full remodel of the existing furniture store; they are excited to be able to offer the most extensive lines of home flooring and furnishings in the North West.

Luminesce Lighting & Design
Sandpoint Furniture purchased Luminesce Lighting and Design in June of 2006. Andrea Levora, the former owner, now manages the lighting department. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in lighting and design. She started Luminesce in 1999 and specializes in custom layouts for each home’s specific needs. Luminesce has direct access to over 100 lighting lines including Hubbarton Forge, Minka Lavery, Elk Lighting, Tech Lighting, Forecast, Thomas and many others. Sandpoint Furniture Clearance Center
Located directly across the street from Sandpoint Furniture, our Clearance Center is loaded with great values. The Clearance Center specializes in discontinued items as well as current items from the main store that we must move. We have in stock the starting lines from both Simmons and Englander, which are great for youth as well as guest room mattresses.
